Kosovo
General Information:
After the international intervention in the Serb-Kosovar war in 1999 the province of Kosovo has been governed by the UN Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) under the authority of UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and had self-government.

Kosovo declared its independence from Serbia in February 2008. Formerly it was an autonomous state within Serbia under NATO protection. Its independence is not recognized by Serbia, Russia and many other countries.
