SAMOA (WESTERN)
General Information:
Western Samoa used to be a UN Trust territory of New Zealand. It became independent in 1971 and is now a parliamentary democratic republic. It was admitted to the United Nations on 15 December 1976.

The name Western Samoa was changed into Samoa in 1997 (officially the "Independent State of Samoa") .
The total area is only 2,831 km2 where less than 200,000 people are living.
